"FIRST - A WONDERFUL SIBLING DUO " EDWARD & GIZELLE"

This pair of 1.5 year olds were rescued from an outdoor situation when a farmer and her 5 year old daughter begged us to find a better place for these 2 sweeties!

"Eddie" is the Tuxedo & Gizelle is the Cream & White. When they first came, Gizelle was inflamed with infection from a false pregnancy; the doctors didn't think she'd make it. BUT she did and she's PURfect! Both adore affection and attention and EACH OTHER. Gizelle is often spotted cleaning Edward & bringing him toys. Both will drool with excitement when a human shows attention. They even have a sibling which is just as sweet and looks like Gizelle. "VIXEY". ALL negative for FIV/FELV and up to date on shots and fixed.Edward & Gizelle are WONDERFUL with humans of all ages!

SECOND - NINA

Nina is a wonderful 2.5 year old girl who is urgently looking to be Queen of her own castle. She is a pretty girl and very sweet. She loves attention and loves to play, but will give a love bite when she's had enough. Nina also wants to sleep on the pillow next to you when you go to bed. She always wants to be near you!

She is FIV/FELV negative, fixed and up to date on shots.

Every Saturday from 12 to 5PM & Most Sundays from 12 to 4PM, adoption days take place at Petco in Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung, NJ.

Appointments can also be made for evening adoptions by contacting Betty B. on 908-464-1203.

Who We Are

SARA Inc. is a animal rescue and placement organization. We are a 501c(3) organization, so your donations are tax deductible. We are comprised of devoted volunteers, some with over thirty years of experience. We have a Board of Trustees and Officers who have hands-on knowledge of how to run an effective and efficient animal rescue organization. We are all actively involved and committed to helping as many cats and dogs as we can!

Our focus is cats and kittens. SARA's priority is to get as many rescued animals placed in good and caring homes. One of our main objectives is population control so we also manage feral colonies with a spay/neuter program.

Adopting a friend

We do not have a shelter. All our animals are fostered in homes and put on display at Petco in Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung, NJ, when ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting, please call Betty 'B' at (908)464-1203 .

Please stop by Petco in Blue Star Shopping Center located on Route 22 West in Watchung, NJ to see our current animals available for adoption. We are there almost every Saturday afternoon between 12 and 5PM. As well as most Sundays from 12PM to 4PM.

Getting Involved!

Make a Donation: Due to the amount of vetting we do on adoptable and un-adoptable cats, financial funding is critical. Paypal donations can be sent or checks can be made payable to SARA, Inc. and you can mail them to SARA, PO Box 124, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922.

Currently SARA Inc has a sibling duo who is in urgent need of knee repair. The cost of this surgery is going to be over $1600. Both sweeties (and they are) are going in for the procedure 10-29 and we pray they will be as good as new. We have every reason to believe they will come out just fine. It will take time and care and $. If you can donate, please click on our paypal button to donate money in their honor. Once they are good as new, this Orange little 4 month old and his pretty little tortie sister will be looking for FURever homes!

These are just 2 of the MANY animals SARA helps to save over the years. We couldn't do it without your continued support!

During adoption days at Petco, donations of canned and dry cat food and litter is always appreciated as well as other items specified on our Wish List. These items can be handed to any of our official volunteers. Other arrangements for donations can be made by contacting the S.A.R.A. location near you.

At certain times of the year, S.A.R.A., Inc. also gathers donated items for garage sales as well as our ebay site.

Volunteer Your Time: Volunteers are always needed and very much welcome not only during our Pet Adoption Days on Saturdays, but also in the daily care of the cats and kittens being kept on display at Petco.

Volunteers are also needed for Petco in Old Bridge!We have recently begun showing some of our cats and kittens at the Petco Gateway Shopping Center, on Rt. 9 in Old Bridge. We are in desperate need of capable volunteers to take one or two slots a week (mornings or evenings) to help with cage cleaning, feeding and caring for our cats and kittens. Please consider being part of a S.A.R.A.'s effort to place even more animals in good, stable homes. Contact Kathleen at 732-309-4089 (or e-mail SARACats@aol.com) if you can help in this area. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have dependable transportation.

Foster Homes: Being a foster home is a fantastic experience. Foster homes are always needed to work with cats, kittens for both long and short term periods, depending on the needs of the animal to groom them into adoptable pets.

Be an Angel: Desperately needed are people with big hearts willing to take in a blood positive (feline aids) cat or kitten. Many of these live long, healthy lives. As a note, FIV cannot be transmitted to humans.
